First Prize of $8,000 each will be awarded in every category (violin, viola, cello). There is one Second and one Third prize. Remaining finalists will receive $1,000 each.

Applicants must go to the application webpage by clicking on the Apply button and upload recording of their Preliminary Auditions program in MP3 format, as well as to fill out an application form and pay an application fee. Applications can be submitted from January 1 until March 1, 2012.
The competition alternates between Voice, Piano, and Strings and Composers every year.

Preliminary Auditions
- 5 minutes or less from the Bach selection.
- 12 minutes or less from the sonata.
- 13 minutes or less from the concerto.include cadenza if applicable but no extended tutti.
Repertoire
- J. S. Bach - One unaccompanied sonata, partita, or suite for violin, viola (transcribed), or cello.
- One sonata with piano from the classical, romantic, impressionist, or contemporary period.
- One concerto or major piece with orchestra by a composer other than the ones chosen for category 1 or 2.
- One short virtuoso work or movement from a longer work.
- One unaccompanied solo work by a 20th or 21st century composer.
