8th Aram Khachaturian International Competition

3rd Prize:$ 5,000

Non-prize-winning finalists will each receive a $2,000 and a Diploma

Additional info:

Two (2) letters of recommendation in English from two well-known musical personalities or from one well-known musician and a music institution.

Active participants:
8 participants will be selected for the Second Round
4 participants will be selected for the Final Round with orchestra

Competition provides:
Accommodation for active participants
Meals for international participants
Travelling expenses half of the travel expenses up to 250 euro will be covered
Practice facilities for international participants

  1. J. S. Bach - One of the following solo works:
    • Adagio and Fugue from Sonata in G minor, BWV 1001
    • Grave and Fugue from Sonata in A minor, BWV 1003
    • Adagio and Fugue from Sonata in C major, BWV 1005
    • Chaconne from Partita in D minor, BWV 1004
  2. Paganini - Two caprices of the participant's choice
  3. Mozart - 1st movement with cadenza from one of the following concertos accompanied by piano:
    • Violin Concerto No. 3 in G major, K. 216
    • Violin Concerto No. 4 in D major K. 218
    • Violin Concerto No. 5 in A major K. 219
  4. Khachaturian - Song-Poem

Second Round

  1. One of the following sonatas:
    • Beethoven - Sonata No. 3 in E-flat major, Op. 12/3
