2nd Komitas International Classical Music Competition and Festival announced
The Komitas International Classical Music Competition and Festival invites young talented musicians to memorize the great Armenian composer Komitas and perform his works, as well as to encourage new interpretations of works by Armenian and European composers – a priceless gift to all true fans of music.
Pianists, singers, violinists, composers, and string quartets will compete for the total prize fund of €20,000 during the 2nd Komitas Competition-Festival at the Pretzel Castle in Branderburg, Germany from September 7 until 9, 2012.
There are a number of activities planned during the competition-festival: seminars and lectures, children's art exhibition, concerts with special guest musicians, master classes, paintings and sculptures exhibition, photo gallery, and more.
A gala-concert will conclude the Komitas International Classical Music Competition and Festival. The competition winners will perform with the Armenian State Youth Orchestra conducted by Sergey Smbatyan.
Bakitone's team member has been awarded a Doctorate Degree with Distinction.
Congratulations to one of Bakitone's administrators Sergei Kuznetsoff for being awarded a Doctorate Degree with Distinction from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. His Doctorate of Musical Arts piano recital will be held at Lonestar College Montgomery in Houston, Texas on Friday, April 27th at 7.30 pm. For information please visit Lonestar College web link.
