The 2013 Washington International Competition for Singers to start accepting applications November 1.
The highly anticipated 2013 Washington International Competition for Singers announces that they will be accepting applications as of November 1, 2012. Young artists between 18 and 32 years of age who are ready to take the next step in launching their careers are encouraged to apply.
The WIC features a top prize of $10,000 as well as several solo performance opportunities in the Washington DC area including appearing at the Kennedy Center with orchestra. Semifinalists will be chosen from their online applications and submitted MP3 selections and will be invited to come to Washington to perform before the panel of esteemed judges, Catherine Malfitano, Peter Russell and Patricia Wise. Finalists perform in the Terrace Theater of the Kennedy Center. The dates of the competition are March 17th and 18th 2013.

3 days left to apply for the "Citta di Acquaviva delle Fonti" Piano Competition
September 30, 2012 is the deadline for applications to the 1st International Piano Competition "Città di Acquaviva delle Fonti" - "Giovanni Colafemmina" Prize. Organized in a beautiful Puglia region in Southern Italy, it is open to pianists of all nationalities and ages who will compete for the first prize of 4000 euro, CD production and its distribution, as well as two concert performances in the country. The competition will be held in three rounds from October 24 until 27, 2012. Participants advanced to the final round will perform a concerto with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Bacau conducted by Ovidiu Balan.

The Muse Junior deadline coming up
Despite all the bad news about economic crisis, the 3rd International Competition for Young Musicians "The Muse Junior" is getting ready to take place this coming September and Greece is looking more welcoming than ever. However the economy may become mismanaged, at least no one has yet found a way to spoil the Greek weather.
The competition will be held in Santorini - one of the best and most popular islands in Greece - from September 3 until 7, 2012. Hundreds of thousands of tourists from all over the world are expected to visit the island this summer. They will be competition participants' main audience and supporters. And participants of The Muse Junior this year are those young musicians who have not turned 19 yet.
Divided in four age categories, participants are not hard pressed with program requirements and are free to choose their own repertoire for the competition's auditions. All performances are open to public and will be held in the concert hall of Megaro Gyzi - a 17th century beautiful mansion. The last day to apply for the competition is on July 20, 2012.
