6th Yuri Bashmet International Viola Competition announced

The Russian Concert Agency has announced the 6th Yuri Bashmet International Viola Competition. The competition will take place in Moscow from January 24 until February 1, 2010. Viola players of any nationality having reached the age of 16 but not older than 40 may apply for participation in the contest. Minjeong Jeong wins the 5th International Piano Competition The Muse

Korean pianist Minjeong Jeong became the winner of the 5th International Piano Competition "The Muse", which was held on a Greek island of Santorini from September 1 until 8, 2009. Second prize has been awarded to a Russian pianist Feruza Khaydarova and the Third prize shared between Chihiro Kubo from from Japan and Pavel Shatskiy from from Russia.

August 28 - Application closing date for the Chopin's Golden Ring competition

Ten days left for submitting required documents for the 5th Chopin's Golden Ring International Competition for Young Pianists. Applicants should send an application form, copy of a birth certificate, certificate of nationality, and an application fee of 70 " not later than August 28.
The competition will take place in Ljubljana, Slovenia on the 17th and 18th of October 2009. It is open to pianists up to 16 years old and limited to 36 participants. Total prize money for this year competition is 5,000 ". For all the details about the competition refer to the official website.
