August 28 - Application closing date for the Chopin's Golden Ring competition

Ten days left for submitting required documents for the 5th Chopin's Golden Ring International Competition for Young Pianists. Applicants should send an application form, copy of a birth certificate, certificate of nationality, and an application fee of 70 " not later than August 28.
The competition will take place in Ljubljana, Slovenia on the 17th and 18th of October 2009. It is open to pianists up to 16 years old and limited to 36 participants. Total prize money for this year competition is 5,000 ". For all the details about the competition refer to the official website.

2nd International Carl Bechstein Piano Competition postponed

Due to the global financial situation and the expected international market cutbacks the C. Bechstein piano manufacturer"s board of directors has decided to postpone the 2nd International Carl Bechstein Piano Competition. The competition is planned to take place in 2012.
Six competitions held in Spain have been updated

The 56th International Music Competition Maria Canals will take place in March 2010 instead of 2011. The 29th International Piano Competition "Delia Steinberg" will also take place in the year of 2010 with the higher prizes this time.
The 23rd "Cidade de Ferrol" International Piano Competition will be held in 2009 as well as the 12th "Jose Roca" International Piano Competition and the International Piano Competition "Spanish Composers".
The 17th Paloma O'Shea Santander International Piano Competition has been moved from 2011 to 2012.
