Bakitone is certainly becoming more and more popular every day. Not only musicians, journalists, business companies, competitions, festivals have been visiting the website. Computer enthusiasts have also joined the club.

Representatives of a powerful hacker community paid us a visit yesterday. Bakitone assisted them with detailed information on many music competitions around the world and had to share its traffic as well. We closed the backdoor at some point due to the little mess it made to the Highlights bar. However, we really appreciate their generally friendly manners keeping the data on the website intact. The summer is over and September has brought updates to plenty of competitions. So many that they will not fit all in our Highlights section. We are talking about... 100 competitions! It's better just to check for your favorite one on Bakitone again.

However, there are some deadlines moved to October. So you might still make it. Check out some of the postponed deadlines such as 15th International Piano Competition "Premi Principat d"Andorra", 44th International Radio Competition "Concertino Praga", Downey Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Competition, and WAMSO Young Artist Competition.

Dates and all the detailed information about the upcoming China International Piano Competition in Xiamen have been updated. The competition will be held for the 5th time in Xiamen from October 28 until November 7, 2010. It is open to pianists of all nationalities aged between 17 and 32. The Russian Concert Agency has announced the 6th Yuri Bashmet International Viola Competition. The competition will take place in Moscow from January 24 until February 1, 2010. Viola players of any nationality having reached the age of 16 but not older than 40 may apply for participation in the contest.
