Additional info:
The competition is open to pianists of all nationalities born between October 28, 1978 and October 28, 1993.

Accommodation and meals for all the active participants will be covered by the organizing committee of the competition.

All qualified applicants from Europe, America, Africa and Oceania will receive $500 towards their traveling expenses and $250 to those from Asian countries.

Selection by DVD or Video cassetee (PAL or NTSC)
1. Two virtuoso Etudes, including one by Chopin
2. J. S. Bach - One Prelude and Fugue from the WTC
3. 1st movement from a Classical Sonata by:
  • Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven or Schubert
4. One work of the applicant’s own choice (about 10 min)


Preliminary Round
(25-30 min)
1. Chopin - One virtuoso etude from Op. 10 (except No. 3, No. 6, No. 9) or Op. 25 (except No. 1, No. 2, No. 7) 

2. One virtuoso etude from any composers other than F. Chopin

3. One of the following works by Chopin:
  • One of the Ballades
  • One of the Scherzos
  • One of the Polonaises
  • Fantasie
  • Barcarolle
4. One work by a participant's choice


Semi-Final (55-60 min)
1. One complete Classical Sonata by:
  • Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven or Schubert

2. Any works chosen by a participant to complement the remaining time

No repertoire from the Preliminary Round is allowed.
